In 2004, John Rieger founded a successful large roofing company that served Houston and Dallas in his home state of Texas, as well as Kansas City, Missouri, with his business partners.
When the partnership dissolved in 2008, John established Priority Roofing and firmly rooted himself and his family in Kansas City. Seeing a need to continue serving major Texas cities, in 2010, John’s brother Scott opened a satellite location of Priority Roofing, where he also offers outbuildings and outdoor kitchens.
John and the Priority Roofing team’s dedication to Kansas City runs deep. They show their love for the city and its residents with diverse roofing solutions, quality craftsmanship, and a truly customer-centric approach.
John Rieger
Co-owner John Rieger got his start in roofing in 2005, working for a large company. While there, he managed more than 20 salespeople and learned firsthand the importance of a roofing contractor’s reputation and client service.
So, this philosophy is one that John continues to take very seriously, as he oversees the day-to-day operations of Priority Roofing in Kansas City. His team knows he’s a stickler for quality and durability, which is why they treat every roof as if it’s their own.
“If we can’t do it correctly,” he says, “we won’t do a roof.”
John holds a Johnson County Contracting License and certifications from CertainTeed, Topps Coatings, and Mule Hide TPO. He also has training in Xactimate adjusting software for insurance claims. In his spare time, John enjoys hunting, fishing, and restoring antique cars.
Scott Rieger
Co-owner Scott Rieger, John’s brother, runs the Texas division of Priority Roofing.
Tyler Littleton
Tyler Littleton is a dedicated roofing professional committed to delivering quality craftsmanship and dependable service on every project. As a CertainTeed Master Craftsman™ certified contractor through CertainTeed, Tyler has met the highest standards in shingle installation and product knowledge, ensuring every roof system is installed to manufacturer specifications and built to last. He is also commercially trained through GAF, giving him the expertise to confidently manage both residential and commercial roofing systems with precision and professionalism.
Known for his attention to detail and strong communication skills, Tyler believes that great project management starts with listening. He takes the time to understand each customer’s concerns, clearly explain options, and ensure no detail is overlooked. From the initial inspection to final walkthrough, his goal is to make the process smooth, transparent, and stress-free.

Tyson Reese
Tyson Reese joined Priority Roofing in 2009, where he calculates estimates and provides fair bids for projects. He oversees crews on the job site to ensure quality and safety and performs roof inspections, searching out signs of storm damage or normal wear and tear.
Above all, he acts as a consultant to homeowners and business owners, giving them honest and professional advice about their roofs, siding, and gutters. Tyson prides himself in ensuring homeowners do not file claims with their insurance unless it’s needed.
Tyson holds certifications from CertainTeed, Mule Hide TPO, and Topps Coatings. In his spare time, he enjoys all outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing.

Pete Newstrom
Pete Newstrom began working for Priority Roofing in 2013. He oversees the day-to-day operations at Priority Roofing, including scheduling crews, ordering materials, and managing job sites to ensure quality. In addition, he also conducts inspections, provides estimates, and represents homeowners at insurance adjuster meetings. Pete takes pride in giving homeowners an accurate inspection, making sure they only file claims when needed. In other words, he loves ensuring clients’ experiences are stress-free.
Continually learning about the latest in the roofing industry, Pete also holds a Johnson County Contracting LIcense and certifications from Certainteed. He has completed training from Owens Corning, Conklin Roofing Systems, and Mule-Hide Roofing Systems.
In his spare time, Pete enjoys hiking, riding his bike, and fishing with his family.
