Help for Kansas City-area homeowners with damaged roofs

If you are a homeowner living in the Kansas City area, you’ve likely experienced what a storm can do firsthand. But, when it comes to filing an insurance claim to repair your damaged roof, your insurance company probably doesn’t have your best interests at heart.

That’s where we come in. We act as an ally for homeowners in Greater Kansas City, helping them make their case with their insurance company so they can repair their damaged roof.

By working with your insurance company, we can help address property damage without you spending out-of-pocket on the repairs.

Filing an insurance claim for your home’s roof

Because each homeowner’s policies and circumstances vary, every claim filed with an insurance company is unique. Moreover, your insurance company has a limited period for which they are liable for damages from a storm. Roof repairs and replacements are typically covered by most homeowners’ insurance policies. However, there are specific steps that a trained representative will take during a roof inspection to even pinpoint commonly overlooked damages that your insurance company can and will help you with.

For example, the damaged caused from a hail storm takes a trained eye to find. Factors that determine the extent of damage include:

  • the slope or angle of the roof,
  • the size, direction, force and shape of the hail,
  • the manufacturer of the shingle,
  • the type of shingle, as well as
  • the age and previous condition of the shingle.

Damage from wind may also be covered by your home insurance policy.

Furthermore, you may have a valid insurance claim for roof damage even when less than half or none of your shingles are missing, depending on your insurance company. Since wind damage is more complex to prove than hail damage, it is wise to have an experienced representative explain your particular circumstances to help you make an educated decision on whether or not to file a claim.

The claims process

Once you have made a definite decision to file a claim, Priority Roofing’s experienced staff will be available to you on site to help make the call to the insurance company and start the claim process.

Next, an adjuster will be assigned to your case and will schedule a time and date for the adjustment.

Once you are contacted by the adjuster, you will need to provide your appointment information to your Priority Roofing representative so that they can speak on your behalf on the day of your adjustment.

After the adjustment is completed, your adjuster will send paperwork that will provide a detailed description of the repair work to be completed and an initial check.

Then, we will discuss and review the Adjuster Summary Paperwork (ASP) with you to ensure that all damages are included for repairs to be completed. You can also take advantage of this time to select your new shingles, choosing things like the shingle’s color and type.

Priority Roofing will then schedule your roof repairs and address all of the damages that have been contracted for them to complete. A final invoice will be sent by us to your insurance company, and they will send a final payment to you if they have not done so previously.

It is crucial that you choose a team of experts like Priority Roofing to assist you in filing an insurance claim to get your roof repaired or replaced.
